Hello Cebu! Naa na mga GWAPA!!!

From the shores of Dumaguete, we traveled to the Queen City of the South...CEBU! :) We took a twenty minute boat ride from Dumaguete to Lilo-an, Cebu then another three hour bus ride to get to the city.

After the long, fun travel... we finally reached Cebu City. And as the title of this blog entry says, the (ehem! ehem!) gwapas have arrived. ^_^ We went straight to Jacinth Pension House, which my cousin suggested. It's far from a fancy hotel but it's clean, have a good space, it offers a free wi-fi, and it's at the heart of the city, in fact, from where it is, it will only take you a good 15 minute walk to reach the city hall. Plus the price is only 1/8 compared to how much you will be spending when you stay in a five star hotel. The fact that we will be staying in Cebu for only two days means we wont be spending much time there so why waste too much money on a fancy hotel, right? (excuses ng mga travellers on a budget! haha..)

OVERVIEW FROM THE LONELY PLANET:

As far as most visitors are concerned, Cebu City is Manila minus the mayhem. Its traffic is chaotic, but not insane. Its size and layout can actually be understood, rather than merely endured. And - sigh - hardly any of the taxi drivers here are employed by Satan.

With a vast seaport, an international airport, two giant shopping malls, a modern business park and several universities, Cebu City has achieved metropolis status without coming to resemble the ninth circle of hell.

The Philippine Taoist Temple is located inside Beverly Hills subdivision (sounds sosyal, dba?), unfortunately, aside from taxis, public transportation is not allowed inside, so on our way out we had to walk, until a good samaritan offered us a ride.... on his truck. :) We were happy to hop in and we enjoyed every moment of it! ^_^

The highlight of our Cebu trip was our little adventure at the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, dito nasubukan talaga ang tapang namin! The Sky Experience Adventure offers a lot of adventure-filled activities, we tried the Sky Walk Extreme and the Edge Coaster. It was fun... hmmm... but... it scared the heck out of me! As in, sa sobrang takot ko pakiramdam ko humiwalay ang kaluluwa ko sa katawang lupa ko! O_O Yah, yah, laugh all u want, but being tilted at the egde of the 38th floor building, 130.84 meters above the ground, ewan ko lang kung di kayo matakot! Tipong pag nahulog ka, kelangan pa ng dental records mo para lang ma identify ka! haha...
